CLS Shooting Confirmado
El precursor de los mal llamados sedanes de cuatro puertas se prepara para dar comienzo a una nueva moda: los couperrancheras.
Mercedes-Benz ha confirmado la producción de la variante Shooting Brake del CLS, ni más ni menos que una carrocería de aspecto familiar pero con unas proporciones más estéticas que prácticas. Eso sí, retendrá las cuatro puertas laterales, cuando lo normal (y más considerando lo mucho que le gusta a Mercedes la palabra coupé) hubiera sido dejarlo con sólo dos, igual que las rancheras para cazadores brevemente popularizadas en el Reino Unido durante los años 60 y 70.
El coche, que será lanzado en 2012, caerá bajo la responsabilidad de la factoría de Mercedes en Sindelfingen, donde también se montan los Clase C, E, S, CL, y cómo no, el CLS convencional (ahem, sedán). El diseño lógicamente descenderá del bellezón conceptual presentado este año en el Salón del Automóvil de Pekín, pero habrá un cambio importante: su nombre. En lugar de Shooting Break, el apellido de este CLS será Shooting Brake, no sabemos si por cuestiones de marketing o legales. Tampoco es que vayamos a perder el sueño; lo importante es el coche, y a juzgar por lo visto, el concept no tuvo muchos problemas para robar el corazón del público. Queda por ver si el modelo de producción podrá apoderarse también de su cartera.
