Porsche confirma la producción del 918
Los incrédulos pueden frotarse los ojos y leer el título todas las veces que quieran, porque la noticia ya está grabada en roca, y así lo acaba de comunicar Porsche por medio de una escueta nota de prensa.
La junta directiva del fabricante de Stuttgart ha dado hoy luz verde a la producción del Porsche 918 Spyder, en respuesta a la «aplastante respuesta del público y los clientes al Concept Study». Su producción, como sucedió en su día con el Carrera GT, será limitada, y seguramente a un precio de escándalo: dicen los rumores que Porsche podría pedir medio millón de euros por coche.
Con la buena nueva confirmada, ya solo nos queda esperar a la publicación de los detalles técnicos del coche. En su versión conceptual, el 918 Spyder hacía uso de un motor V8 de 500 CV y tres eléctricos de 218 (alimentados desde unas baterías recargables mediante un enchufe) para clavar su velocidad máxima en 320 km/h y alcanzar los 100 desde parado en únicamente 3,2 segundos, todo ello con un consumo en ciclo combinado de 3,0 L/100 km. Dadas las ambiciones de Porsche, mucho dudamos que se vayan a conformar con menos.
